BALTIMORE—The UMBC volleyball team travels to Towson, Md. Tuesday night to take on local rival Towson at 7 p.m. Live stats and video are available for the match.

The Retrievers played one match last week, dropping a five-set heartbreaker at Georgetown, 3-2, Tuesday night. Senior Sabrina Hoeks (Olympia, Wash./AG West Black Hills) tallied her sixth straight double-double with 11 kills and 15 digs. UMBC was led by sophomore Ali Loynachan (Oshawa, Ontario, Canada/Sinclair), who hit .323 with 11 kills and only one error. Junior Iman Kennedy (Charlotte, N.C./Independence) tallied seven kills and a game-high four blocks, while freshman Hallie Carter (Huntington Beach, Calif./Edison) had a game-high 26 digs.

For the season, Hoeks leads the team in kills (2.82 kps) and aces (0.61 aps), while Kennedy leads the team in blocks (1.09 bps) and Carter leads the team in digs (3.98 dps). Kennedy now has 150 career assisted blocks, ninth-most in Retriever history.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS: Towson comes into the match with a record of 11-6 after falling to Delaware, 3-1, on Friday night in its CAA opener. Katy Buck leads the team in kills (2.66 kps), while Lauren Tonokawa leads Towson with 3.61 digs per set. Evan Schulz directs the Tigers’ offense with 9.82 assists per set.

All-Time Series: Towson leads the all-time series, 35-32-1. The Tigers defeated the Retrievers, 3-0, earlier in the year on Sept. 4 as part of the Battle of Baltimore. That snapped a UMBC three-game win streak.
