Volleyball Hosts Second Annual Madison Bingaman Memorial Tournament presented by BWI Holiday Inn Friday and Saturday

BALTIMORE—The UMBC volleyball team welcomes five teams to the RAC Arena Friday and Saturday for the second annual Madison Bingaman Memorial Tournament presented by BWI Holiday Inn. The Retrievers play Howard and Ohio State on Friday at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., respectively and Brown (11 a.m.) and Sacred Heart (4 p.m.) on Saturday. Towson will also host action Thursday evening and Friday. If you can’t make it to the RAC, every game at UMBC will be broadcast live at www.UMBCRetrievers.tv. Live stats will also be available for the matches.
The Retrievers will look to rebound from a 3-0 loss at home against George Washington Tuesday night after going 2-2 in the Battle of Baltimore last weekend. Junior Iman Kennedy was named to the All-Tournament Team, while freshman Ali Goc was named America East Rookie of the Week.
Friday night’s match between UMBC and Ohio State will be the first ever meeting between the schools. Brown won the only matchup with the Retrievers in1999, while UMBC holds a 6-0 advantage over Sacred Heart. The Retrievers lead the all-time series with Howard 18-3 and have won the past eight meetings.
