SR Dana Cookson and SO Jennifer Davis combined for 26 kills in UMBC's victory.

Baltimore, MD - - - UMBC senior outside hitter Dana Cookson recorded a match-high 17 kills, leading UMBC to a 30-15, 30-28, 22-30, 30-25 victory against local rival Navy, Wednesday evening at UMBC RAC Arena.UMBC (5-0) hit .241 for the match and held the Mids to a .163 mark. Freshmen hitters Julia Waclawiak and Tauna Woolery (21 digs) each added 9 kills, as did sophomore Jennifer Davis. Davis also contributed 20 digs and 2.5 blocks.Navy (2-2) was led by junior outside hitter Erica McElroy, who had 12 kills and 17 digs. Junior blocker Kristin Davidson added 12 kills and 9 digs.UMBC will host Wyoming next Wednesday, September 12 at UMBC RAC Arena.
