Alyssa Lang Named America East Volleyball Rookie of the Year

Lang won an all-time conference high eight Rookies of the Week this year and led the Retrievers right out of the gate with two double-doubles in the opening weekend of play. She finished with 10 double-doubles during the regular season and averaged 2.85 kills and 2.82 digs per set. Lang’s service game was also strong, serving up 41 aces on the year and averaging 0.38 aces per set, fourth in America East.
Scheetz has followed up an outstanding freshman season with an equally impressive second campaign. The sophomore has 106 assisted blocks, the second-most in school history, behind only her freshman year of 112. She leads the Retrievers with 1.02 blocks per set, good enough for fourth in the conference, and has hit 243 kills at a .255 hitting percentage, eighth in the America East.
Spaay started 11 matches for the Retrievers this year, averaging 8.52 assists per set. The freshman also added 76 digs, 23 total blocks and 10 service aces on the season.
