BOSTON—Freshman Sabrina Hoeks (Olympia, Wash./AG West Black Hills) became the fourth Retriever to earn a weekly conference award, as she was named the America East Rookie of the Week for the week ending Sept. 30, the conference announced Monday. Hoeks recorded her first double-double of her collegiate career in the Retrievers’ 3-1 win over Hoeks finished the week second in the conference in service aces with eight in 11 games. Over the weekend, she averaged 4.00 kills per game, 1.00 aces per game, 3.20 digs per game, and 5.50 points per game while hitting at .327 in both conference matches. Previous Retriever weekly award winners include sophomores Kira Giles and Ashley Oscars, who were named Player of the Week and Setter of the Week, respectively and freshman Bridget Scheetz, who garnered the conference’s first Rookie of the Week award for the season.
