Oscars, Giles Grab Weekly Conference Awards
Sophomore Ashley Oscars earned her first weekly award of the 2007 season after garnering the 2006 Rookie of the Year accolade.
BOSTONóSophomore Ashley Oscars (Bakersfield, Calif./Liberty) has been named the America East Conference Player of the Week while sophomore Kira Giles (Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada/Glenlawn) garners Setter of the Week honors for the week ending Sept. 23, the conference announced Tuesday.
The award marks Oscarsí first of the 2007 season, after tying teammate Sarah Ballís record for most Rookie of the Week accolades in 2006, receiving the honor on seven occasions and being named the 2006 Rookie of the Year.
