“We’re all shocked and saddened by this tragic news,” said head coach Ian Blanchard. “Maddie was a vibrant, very bright, wonderful young woman who had a wonderful future in front of her on so many different levels. Words can’t describe how devastated the entire UMBC Athletics community, in particular our volleyball family, is at this time. Our hearts and prayers go out to the entire Bingaman family.”
Earlier this year Bingaman was a part of the third-place Austin Junior Volleyball Club at the USA Junior Olympic Championships and earned numerous accolades with her high school team.
