Ball, Giles Named to Colgate Classic All-Tournament Team

Sarah Ball averaged a double-double in three matches over the weekend.

Hamilton, N.Y.-UMBC sophomore Sarah Ball and freshman Kira Giles were named to the Colgate Classic All-Tournament Team, which was announced Sunday.

Ball, the reigning America East Rookie of the Year, posted a double-double in each match, totaling 46 kills and 38 digs on the weekend. She averaged 5.11 kills per game and 4.22 digs per game.

Giles dished out 113 assists, averaging 12.56 per game, and added 3.11 digs per contest, as well.

The Retrievers went 3-0 at the season-opening Colgate Classic, defeating LaSalle, Rider and Colgate in straight sets. UMBC takes on Towson Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m.
