MEGAN GROSS TABBED AMERICA EAST SETTER OF THE WEEK

Junior Megan Gross was awarded her second Setter of the Week award by the America East Conference on Monday.

, Md. – UMBC junior Megan Gross (Montclair, Va./Forest Park) was named America East Conference Setter of the Week by the league office on Monday.  The accolade is Gross’ second conference setter of the week award this year and her fourth in the America East Conference.


Gross averaged 12.29 assists per game in two contests last week, handing out 53 assists against Northeastern and 33 against Hartford.  Gross recorded her 13th double-double of the year against Northeastern, adding 14 digs to her 53 assists mark.  For the week she averaged 3.14 digs per game with 22 total digs. 

 

Gross this past week moved into second place on UMBC’s all-time career assists chart and now has 3,102 career assists.  Gross, who played in all 110 games for UMBC in 2004, finished the season with 1,119 assists, a 10.17 per game average and the 10th best single season in program history for assists in a season. 

 

The Retrievers season concluded last weekend in UMBC’s 3-0 win over Hartford.  The Retrievers finished the year with a 13-18 record and a 4-10 America East league mark.
