The UMBC Volleyball team went 1-1 last week and continues to hold strong on the road as they play their first five conference road games away from the confines of RAC Arena.  News and Notes this week features a look at the Retrievers’ trip to Hartford and Northeastern this week, a wrap of last week’s action and much more.

 LOOKING AHEAD

 CONFERENCE PLAY IN FULL SWING

The Retrievers this week head back on the road to the University of Hartford on Friday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. and take on Northeastern on Saturday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m.  UMBC is currently 1-2 in the America East Conference as the top-four teams at the end of the regular season advance to the conference tournament.  Last season the Retrievers split matches with Hartford, winning at home in three sets before falling in the season finale in four sets.  The Retrievers were 0-2 in two matches to Northeastern as the Huskies defeated UMBC in four sets in the first match and then swept the Retrievers in three in the second match.

VOLLEYBALL IN MIDST OF LONG ROAD SWING

The Retrievers Volleyball team is in the midst of an eight-game road stretch that has them playing away from the confines of RAC Arena from Sept. 24 to Oct. 22 when they return home to face Albany.  During the stretch the Retrievers will play their first five conference games on the road.  The Retrievers, who are currently 3-3 during the stretch, face Hartford and Northeastern this weekend on the road.  The Retrievers on the horizon have five-straight home matches that begin with the Oct. 22 date against Albany.
