UMBC VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO KENT STATE , 3-1, IN OPENING GAME OF VERNON MANOR BEARCAT INVITATIONAL
9/3/2004
The Retrievers came out strong recording 21 kills in the opening game but saw the Golden Flashes come out with a 32-30 victory. The Retrievers avenged their opening game loss with a 30-22 win behind a strong defense that forced 10 errors by the Golden Flashes.

Jocelyn Teoh logged a match-high 18 kills and her first double-double of the year with 18 digs as well. Megan Gross recorded 46 assists and Christine Skala dug 17 balls. Other double-figure kills leaders was Emily Berman with 16 and freshman Marisa Gross with 10.
