Baltimore, MD- UMBC (4-10, 4-8 NEC) ended its second year in Division I play on a good note, as the Lady Retrievers defeated Siena (4-12, 4-8 NEC), 6-2. Leading the Retriever offense was junior Lauren Olszewski, who had two goals and one assist for the home team. Later, sophomore attacker Amanda Bile would extend the lead after blasting a shot into the Saints' net during a UMBC penalty corner. The game-winning goal came with less than two minutes remaining in the first half, as freshman starter Jennifer Rowe scored off her own rebound in another Retriever penalty corner. In the second half, a revived Siena team threatened to come back when they scored twice in a one-minute span.
