Baltimore, MD - - -Junior outside hitter Lauren Warner and senior outside hitter Yulia Vtyurina combined for 25 kills, helping to lead the Georgetown Hoyas (11-6) to an easy 30-18, 30-23, 30-22 victory against the UMBC Retrievers (9-10), Tuesday evening at UMBC RAC Arena.In the opening game, Vtyurina recorded a game-high 6 kills and Warner added 5 for Georgetown, who hit .361 in the game. The Hoyas recorded 5 service aces and UMBC had 5 service errors.UMBC led 15-14 in game two, but the Hoyas went on a 10-6 run to grab a 24-21 advantage. The Retrievers were within 25-23, but Georgetown scored the final five points to win the game. Junior middle blocker Anna Kleinsorge recorded a game-high 5 kills.Vtyurina added 6 more kills in the third and final game and Warner recorded 5 as the Hoyas hit .406 compared to just .222 for UMBC.For the match, Georgetown outhit the Retrievers .313 to .241. Senior outside hitter Dana Cookson led UMBC with 8 kills and sophomore Jennifer Davis added 7.
