The host UMBC Retrievers (8-9) won their second straight match, defeating the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (2-15), 30-13, 30-14, 30-15, Tuesday evening at the UMBC RAC Arena.In the opening game, UMBC freshman Jocelyn Teoh (Puchong Malaysia) recorded 4 service aces and classmate Tauna Woolery (Rockville, MD) added a game-high 4 kills. Teoh again took over in game two, recording a game high 5 kills, and freshman Julia Waclawiak and senior Dana Cookson each added 3 put-aways. Junior Heather Kerley added 10 assists.The Retrievers put the match away in game-three, hitting .516 from the floor. Woolery added five more kills and Teoh, Waclawiak, and freshman Colleen Morton all had 3 kills.The Retrievers hit .365 in the match and held the Hawks to a -.015 hitting percentage.Teoh led all players with 11 kills and hit an even .400 for the match. Woolery added 9 kills and Kerley finished with a match-high 29 assists. Junior middle blocker Lucy Saunders led UMES with 5 kills and classmate Jessica Whitney added 10 digs.
