JOCELYN TEOH NAMED TO AMERICA EAST ALL-CONFERENCE VOLLEYBALL TEAM

11/21/2003

UMBC junior middle-hitter Jocelyn Teoh (Puchong, Malaysia/Bujit Jalil Sports Academy) received America East All-Conference honors, as she finished the season with league-leading numbers in kills (600) and kills per game (4.96).

Teoh, who received America East Player of the Week accolades for the week of October 6, was recognized as The Retriever Weekly’s Athlete of the Week last Tuesday, November 19. In UMBC’s game against New Hampshire, she recorded 26 kills and 19 digs, before ending the season with her second 30 kill match of the season and first four-set 30 kill match of the year against league foe Hartford.

"Jocelyn has been a great quick hitter," said UMBC Head Coach Greg Giovanazzi. "She could have played for any team in the country and is one of the best skilled players that I have ever coached."

As a freshman, Teoh was named the Northeast Conference Newcomer of the Year and was selected as a NEC Rookie of the Week when she tallied an impressive season-high 20 kills in two back-to-back matches.
