UMBC VOLLEYBALL DROPS THIRD STRAIGHT, FALLS TO NORTHEASTERN, 3-1

Boston, Mass. – The UMBC volleyball team (13-10, 2-3) lost their third consecutive match on Saturday night as America East Conference foe Northeastern (17-6, 5-0) defeated the Retrievers, 3-1 (27-30, 30-24, 30-23, 30-25) at Solomon Court.
Jocelyn Teoh (Puchong, Malaysia/Bujit Jalil Sports Academy) recorded 29 kills and 16 digs for a double-double in the match as the Retrievers raced out to a one set lead with a 30-27 first set victory. The Retrievers recorded 19 kills in the first set.
The Huskies, however, stormed back taking the next three sets following the lead of Rebecca Holland who recorded a double-double with 17 kills and 25 digs.
Megan Gross (Mont Clair, Va./Forest Park) went over the 1,000 assist mark on the season for the Retrievers with 53 assists against the Huskies to bring her season tally to 1,003 assists.
UMBC returns to action as they travel to New Hampshire on Friday, Oct. 24 for a 7 p.m. match.
