2008: Led the Retrievers in assists with 759, giving her 2,552 for her career, the fourth-most in school history… Played in 25 matches, starting 20…  Had a season-high 55 assists against Eastern Michigan… Recorded nine double-doubles on the season, including a 49-assist, 11-dig performance against Binghamton in the America East Championship semifinal… Posted 63 assisted blocks to land eighth on the all-time career list at UMBC with 153… Named America East Setter of the Week for the week ending Nov. 16… Named Most Valuable Player of the UMBC Tournament the weekend of Sept. 5-6… Named to the America East Honor Roll.

 

2007: Started all 25 matches she played during the season, for 84 total games… Averaged 11.00 assists/gm, which ranked third in the America East Conference… Also ranked in the top ten in the conference with 3.32 digs/gm (eighth), which was the second-best mark on the team… Was second on the team with 29 service aces… Recorded 13 double-doubles on the season, including ending the season with a string of five straight… Set a new career-high with 68 assists against Albany and also recorded two other 50+ assists performances… Named the conference Setter of the Week on two different occasions… Named to the America East Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

 

2006:  Recorded 869 assists in her debut season, good for ninth on all-time in a career and averaged 10.60 apg, which ranked third in the America East… Also recorded a .273 hitting percentage, the highest on the team among players with at least 100 attacks and ranked third in digs per game with 2.62 in addition to recording eight double-doubles during the season… Started 20 of 24 matches played on the year, playing a total of 82 games… Tallied five 50-plus assist performances including 60-assist and 54-assist performances during the America East Tournament versus Binghamton and Albany… In the title match against Albany, also added 13 digs for a total of 215 on the season… An America East All-Conference First Team and All-Rookie team selection.

High School:  A setter out of Winnipeg, Canada, who started on the varsity team since her sophomore year at the Glenlawn Collegiate Institute… That season earned Varsity Player of the Year and quickly drew attention in the province, earning Tournament MVP honors and Tournament All-Star honors twice while being voted to the Provincial All-Star team… Named to the All-Manitoba team her senior year and made the provincial finals in 2004… Also a member of the Big Sand Volleyball Club team since fifth grade, earning Provincial All-Star accolades the last two years… Helped lead her team to the National 18-Under title in 2005 and named to the All-Canadian All-Star team as a setter… Also won the national title in 2003... A four-year honor roll student.

Personal:  The youngest of four children to Fred and Sandy Giles… Father played hockey at the University of Winnipeg… Older siblings include Shauna, Warren and Tara… Born on November 7, 1988.
