2004: Returns as UMBC’s top hitter after leading the team with a .212 hitting percentage and ranking second in kills per game at 3.67…moved over the minimum 1,000 career attacks to earn the 10th spot on UMBC’s career hitting percentage chart at .246…played in 29 matches and 103 sets on the year…recorded 49 service aces to lead the at 0.48 per game as UMBC ranked 29th in the nation in service aces per game at 2.01…open the season strong after a tough showing against Xavier, recording seven consecutive double-digit kill performances, including two 20-plus showings and six 15-plus performances…finished with 20 double-digit kill performances…was outstanding against Hampton, finishing 17 kills and hitting .625 in the game…went on to couple that match with a 16-kill match against Loyola (Md.) and a 22-kill match against William & Mary to earn All-Tournament accolades…earned America East Conference Player of the Week (week ending Sept. 13) accolades following that week’s performance…leads all active players in kills with 437.
2003: Earned a medical redshirt after playing in six matches and 13 games before an injury ended her season during the Rider game at the Retriever Invitational… had an outstanding debut in her first game donning the black and gold, scoring seven kills out of eight attack attempts to start the season with a .875 attack percentage…had a season-high nine kills and five blocks against Providence in the opener of the Retriever Invitational…in her 13 matches she amassed 30 kills and a .303 attack percentage…also recorded on service ace, seven blocks and seven digs.
High School: Was named a first team all-city and first team all-county player by the Baltimore Sun…named to the all-metro team in 2001 and 2002...named the Baltimore Sun’s Athlete of the Week on Oct. 2, 2002...helped lead Towson to the state championship in 2001 and the state championship game in 2002.
Personal: Daughter of Margaret and Robert Berman...born on September 2, 1985...has a sister Katie (23) and a brother Matt (22)...Also considered Maryland, Drexel, and St. Francis (Pa.)...Is undecided about her future major.
