Watson and Ramos Shine, but Volleyball Falls at Albany

Albany, N.Y.. -- Junior libero Kristin Watson (Bowie, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt) had a match-high 17 digs, but the UMBC Volleyball team fell to host Albany in straight sets (25-14, 25-19, 25-21) on Friday night at the RAC.

Krytsia Negron (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Colegio Adianez) had a double-double with 25 assists and 10 digs, while Ashley Ramos (Orlando, Fla./ Liberty/Monroe JC) tied for a match-best with 10 kills.

Paola Rojas (San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico/Notre Dame) also had eight kills, nine digs and three blocks for UMBC (13-10, 5-4).

Albany (9-13, 9-1) hit .294 for the match, while holding the Retrievers to just a .129 hitting percentage.  

UMBC will wrap-up the conference road slate with a 1 p.m. match at Binghamton on Sunday.
