2003: Recorded a strong season for the Retrievers during her sophomore year, leading the team in digs per game at 2.92 with 333 on the year and in receptions with 0.46 per game…was one of three players to play in all 33 matches on the season…recorded 15 double figures performances in digs recording the single most digs per game in a three and four-game match…went on the offensive against Albany, racking up a season-high 12 attacks…had an outstanding defensive game against Morgan State with 14 digs and five blocks, four of those blocks solo…finished the season with 333 digs and 73 kills…was named to and played for the USA Select Team at the 2004 European Spring Cup in the Czech Republic during the spring of 2004.

 

2002: Named the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week on Oct.14...named to the UMBC Invitational All-Tournament Team...averaged an impressive 2.83 kills and 2.97 digs per game...third on the team with 35 service aces...reached double-figures in kills in 14 different matches...tied her season-high with 19 kills in her first career match against Binghamton (8/30) and also added a season-high 22 digs...also had 19 kills against Towson (10/2)...played one of her better matches of the season when she recorded 17 kills (.556 hitting percentage), 14 assists and 13 digs against St. Francis (N.Y.) on Oct. 13...recorded a season-high five aces against Long Island (10/12)...dug 20 balls against Loyola on Oct. 4...had 13 kills in the NEC Tournament loss to LIU (11/23).

High School: An outstanding athlete at Hinsdale High School, being named Most Valuable Player of her team in 2001...also earned All-Conference honors.

Personal: Daughter of Joe and Fran Skala...born on February 1, 1984...plans to major in Physical Therapy...her brother Joe is 18.
