Background: A four-year letterwinner at Potomac High School in Oxon Hill, Md.... Claimed the Maryland state title in the shot put at the 2007 outdoor championship meet and at the 2005 indoor meet... Also finished as the runner-up at the 2007 and 2006 indoor meets and 2005 outdoor meet and was third in the shot put at the 2006 outdoor meet... Named MVP of her team from 2003-2007 for the indoor and outdoor seasons and also named Most Improved from 2003-2007 for the indoor and outdoor seasons... Named the salutatorian of her graduating class... A member of the National Honor Society and Varsity and received the Principal's Award of Excellence.
