UMBC Track and Field Wins Four Events as the Men's Team Finishes Fourth at the America East Championships
May 03, 2009Juniors Adrian Arthur (Bowie, Md./Bowie) and Antonio Thomas (Columbia, Md./Long Reach) each earned gold in individual events and were part of the men's 4x100-meter relay team that broke the America East Championship record as the UMBC men's track and field team finished fourth at the America East Outdoor Championships at Binghamton University. Sophomore Chrissy Robinson (Lusby, Md./Patuxent) won the women's shot put as the women's team finished ninth. -
Gilreath Wins High Jump on First Day of America East Championships
May 02, 2009Sophomore Victor Gilreath (Catonsville, Md./Western Tech/Maryland) won the high jump, junior Adrian Arthur (Bowie, Md./Bowie) is seeded first in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes and senior Dominic Devaud (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley) is first in the decathlon for the UMBC track and field teams after the first day of competition in the America East Outdoor Track and Field Championships. -

Flowers) broke the school record in the women's 100-meter hurdles (14.28) and junior Victor Gilreath (Catonsville, Md./Western Tech/Maryland) won the men's triple jump and high jump with marks of 14.71m (48'3.25") and 2.00m (6'6.75"), respectively, as the UMBC outdoor track and field teams competed at the University of Virginia Invitational Saturday. -

February 21, 2009Sophomore Victor Gilreath (Catonsville, Md./Western Tech/Maryland) broke a school record and hit a NCAA provisional quallifying mark in the triple jump and won gold in the high jump as the UMBC indoor track and field teams competed in the final day of the America East Championships at Boston University. The men's team finished fourth with 123 points, while the women placed seventh with 57 points. Boston University won the women's side, while Albany won the men's. -

January 31, 2009The UMBC men's and women's indoor track and field teams combined to win six events at the George Mason Patriot Games Saturday, including freshman Imani Colbert (Upper Marlboro, Md./C.H. Flowers) breaking the UMBC record in the 60-meter hurdles for the fourth time this season. Colbert crossed the line first in an ECAC qualifying time of 8.57. -

January 26, 2009Five UMBC members of the UMBC indoor track and field team competed in the 17th Annual Lehigh John Covert Classic on Saturday at Lehigh University. Junior Dominic Devaud (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley) finished third in the men's heptathlon, qualifying for the IC4A Championships in March with a score of 4,905. On the women's side, senior Toni Boyd (Waldorf, Md./Westlake) placed third in the pentathlon with a score of 2,815. -
