Emily Mannix Named America East Women's Tennis Player of the Week

Cambridge, Mass.—UMBC’s Emily Mannix (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) was named America East Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for matches ending March 13, 2011.
Mannix, the lone senior on the squad, posted a 3-1 mark for the weekend with straight-set singles victories in the No. 5 slot against conference foe Hartford and Temple. Mannix did not drop a game against the Hawks, posting a 6-0, 6-0 victory, and lost just three games in a 6-3, 6-0 win in her match against Temple.
The four-year letter-winner also posted an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles with freshman Kim Berghaus (Offenbach, Germany/Leibnizgymnasium) against Hartford.
Mannix’s singles record stands at 7-5 this spring and she is 7-3 in doubles competition.
