UMBC finished the season with a mark of 14-7, after debuting at 7-7 under head coach Rob Hubbard in 2009… Senior Alice Chen (North Potomac, Md./Quince Orchard) produced her best spring in singles, posting a record of 15-6, primarily at the No. 1 slot… Classmate Barbara Couto (Teresopolis, Brazil/Centrode Ensino Moderno), who played sparingly in her first three seasons, led the team with 33 spring victories… Couto was 16-6 in singles and 17-3 in doubles competition… She shared team honors in singles victories with countrywoman Lorena Valente (
