Six Named CollegeSwimming.com's Mid-Major All-American Honorable Mention

BALTIMORE—Seniors Eric Jones (Gambrills, Md./Arundel) and Brad Reitz (Ellicott City, Md./Howard), junior Abbey McKenney (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine) and sophomores Pierre De Waal (Pretoria, South Africa/Tuks Sport/Cleveland State), Amy Fay (Haverhill, Mass./Haverhill) and Jennifer Kotonias (Burtonsville, Md./Academy of Holy Cross) have been named to the Mid-Major All-American Honorable Mention list byCollegeSwimming.com, the website announced Monday.

 

Jones earned gold in the men’s 200-yard freestyle at the 2011 America East Championships in a time of 1:37.57, while Reitz won the 200 butterfly and 200 IM in 1:47.26 and 1:48.54, respectively. De Waal took home gold in the 500 free in a time of 4:27.08.

 

McKenney won gold in the women’s 100- and 200-yard freestyle in 49.66 and 1:48.98, Fay earned gold in the 500 free in 4:51.62 and Kotonias took home first in the 400 IM in 4:18.20.

 

Swimmers earned the honor by achieving NCAA “B” time standards during the course of the 2010-11 season. Reitz and McKenney earned the honor last season as well.
