Seniors Shinholser and Jones Earn America East Swimming and Diving Weekly Awards

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--Seniors Amanda Shinholser (Burtonsville, Md./Springbrook) and Eric Jones (Gambrills, Md./Arundel) have been named America East Female Diver and Male Swimmer of the Week, respectively, the conference announced Tuesday. It was Shinholser's second weekly award this year and Jones' fourth.

Shinholser led the Retriever divers on Senior Day against Marist, winning the one-meter dive with a career-high 240.22 points. The senior also finished third in the three-meter dive with 219.00 points.

Jones helped lead the Retrievers to a win over Marist Saturday, earning three wins. The senior stayed undefeated this season in the 200-yard freestyle, winning in 1:40.69. Jones was also the anchor of the winning 200 medley relay team that finished in 1:36.37. Additionally, Jones won the 500 free in 4:45.96, the first time he swam the event this season, and took third place in the 200 IM in 2:02.26, an event he had never competed in before Saturday.

The Retrievers conclude their dual-meet season with a double-dual meet against Delaware and William and Mary in Newark, Del. on Saturday, January 29.
