Former Swimming and Diving Standout Brad Green Named Assistant Coach and Assistant Aquatics Director

BALTIMORE—Former UMBC swimming and diving standout Brad Green has been named assistant aquatics director and assistant coach for the Retrievers, head coach Chad Cradock announced today. He will also serve as the head age group coach for the Retriever Aquatic Club.

“We are very excited that Brad has joined us,” Cradock said. “He has done a good job as a coach so far and he’s going to add a lot to our program.”

Green, who graduated from UMBC in 2004 with a degree in economics, spent the previous three years as head coach of the Ocean City High School swim squad and the senior age group coach of the Ocean City C-Cerpants in Ocean City, N.J.

Green currently holds the UMBC record in the 100-yard freestyle (44.82) and is a part of the 400-yard freestyle relay school record. He was named America East and ECAC Outstanding Male Swimmer in 2004, as well as the UMBC Outstanding Male Senior Athlete.

After UMBC, Green returned to his native Philadelphia to attend West Chester University, where he earned a teaching certificate in physical education and health.  While there, he also coached swimming and water polo at Episcopal Academy.
