Women's Swimming and Diving Named 2010 CSCAA Scholar All-American Team

BALTIMORE, Md.—The UMBC women’s swimming and diving team was named a College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team for the semester of Spring 2010, as announced by the association recently.

 

To earn CSCAA Scholar All-American Team Honors, a swimming and diving team must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA for the semester being recognized. UMBC had a combined GPA of 3.07 and finished second at the America East Championships in February.

 

“I’m very proud of our ladies,” head coach Chad Cradock said. “I look forward to this year for continued success in the pool and the classroom.”

 

Seniors Tina Cantwell (Sinking Spring, Pa./The Hill School), Tereza Kaplanova(Prague, Czech Republic/Gymnazium J.G. Jankovskeho) and Lindsay Sherman (Bethany, Conn./Amity) were named to the 2009-10 America East All-Academic team, while 20 members of the team were named to the America East Honor Roll.
