Retrievers Drop 1-0 Decision to Defending America East Champ Boston University in Womenís Soccer Action
Rachel McKee was UMBC's America East Player of the Game.
The Terriers broke a scoreless tie with just 40 seconds remaining in the first half when Kadet ran out of her box to the left side of the net to get the ball, but it was kicked over her head and found BU midfielder Kylie Strom inside the box. Kadet scrambled but could not get back in position in time, and Strom knocked it into an open net.
In addition to Kadetís eight stops, the UMBC defense was credited with a pair of team saves. King and Alice Binns each played one half in goal for the Terriers; King made the lone save of the day for BU, as the Terriers outshot the Retrievers, 18-6, including 11-1 in shots on goal. McKee took a team-high three shots and was named UMBCís America East Player of the Game.
The Retrievers return to action on Sunday when they travel to America East rival
