Warrington, Johnson Selected to America East Women’s Soccer All-Rookie Team

BOSTON—UMBC freshman defenders Morgan Warrington (Magnolia, Del./St. Thomas Moore Prep) and Erin Johnson (Norristown, Pa./Methacton) were named to the America East Women’s Soccer All-Rookie Team, the conference announced Wednesday.
Warrington started 17 games and ranked second on the team with three goals and seven points. She was named America East Rookie of the Week on Monday after finishing the season strong, scoring twice and adding an assist in the Retrievers’ last two games.
Johnson started all 18 games on the season and scored her first career goal in the season finale against America East rival Albany.
Albany’s Teresa Boring was tabbed America East Rookie of the Year.
Other award winners included Striker of the Year Michelle Sheehan and Midfielder of the Year Caitlin Whelan, both from New Hampshire, and Defender of the Year Casey Brown and Goalkeeper of the Year Christina Reuter, both from Boston University. New Hampshire also took home the Coaching Staff of the Year.
