Junior goalkeeper Catie Bukowski made 6 saves in loss to New Hampshire on Thursday.

BALTIMORE-The UMBC women’s soccer team (1-8-2, 0-2-0 AEC) dropped its third straight game, 2-0, to New Hampshire (6-4-1, 2-0-0 AEC) on Thursday afternoon at UMBC Soccer Stadium.

In the 13th minute, UNH midfielder Amy Avitabile fired in a corner right to forward Marianne Rivard, who headed the ball past junior goalkeeper Catie Bukowski (Odenton, Md./Arundel/South Carolina) to give the Wildcats the early lead.

In the 81st minute, Rivard crossed the ball to forward Michelle Sheehan, who scored her sixth goal of the season past a diving Bukowski.

UMBC freshman forward Ashley Singer (Baltimore, Md./Kenwood) led the Retrievers with seven shots, but New Hampshire goalie Ally Yost posted her third shutout of the year, making five saves.  The Retrievers have gone a total of 300:11 since they last scored on Sept. 21 at Sacred Heart.

New Hampshire out-shot the Retrievers, 21-14, and held a 7-0 advantage on corner kicks.

Bukowski made six saves in 85 minutes before junior Christine Bacinski (Hampstead, Md./Mount de Sales) took over in net.

The Retrievers return to action at Maine on Sunday, Oct. 7 at 11 a.m.
