Women’s Soccer Drops 3-1 Decision to N.C. State
Freshman Morgan Warrington scored her first career goal against N.C. State.
Less than a minute later, Kara Baldy nearly copied Vera’s prior effort, one-timing a bounding ball into the net from 17 yards out, and N.C. State took the 2-0 advantage into halftime.
Katie Ruiz added a third goal for the Wolfpack in the 54th minute, as she lined up for a free kick from 55 yards out and lofted a set piece high into the box that took one giant bounce and went over UMBC goalie Christine Bacinski.
The Retrievers got on the board in the 83rd minute when freshman Morgan Warrington fired from 15 yards out into the lower-right corner for her first career goal.
Bacinski made four saves in 90 minutes, while Wolfpack keepers Sydney Little and Rachel Barnette split time in goal and combined for three stops.
