Hearin excels in the classroom, as well, compiling a 3.86 cumulative grade-point average in four years. She graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa in May 2006 with a degree in history and is currently attending graduate school at UMBC for historical studies. A member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, the Golden Key International Honor Society and Chi Sigma Alpha, the National College Athlete Honor Society, Hearin has earned semester academic honors seven times and has achieved Deanís List five times, and her name was published in the National Deanís List in 2005-06.
