Retrievers Fall to 25th-Ranked Maryland, 6-0, in Women’s Soccer Action

Midfielder Melissa Hornfeck scored twice for the Terrapins (
A little more than three minutes later Maryland forward Kelly Rozumalski gave the Terps a 2-0 lead, chipping the ball over Retriever goalkeeper Catie Bukowski from 25 yards out.
Hornfeck got into the scoring act in the eighth minute of play. Sample started the play with a pass through the center of the UMBC defense that found Hornfeck's feet, and she finished with a chip into the net from 12 yards out.
The Terps took a 4-0 lead in the 26th minute when midfielder Emily Maynard scored with assists from Amanda Paizs and Rozumalski.
Hornfeck scored her second of the game in the 51st minute after beating the UMBC keeper one-on-one. Maynard tallied the assist after setting up the goal with a pass through the center of the Retriever defense.
