FRESHMEN SCORE THREE GOALS IN WOMEN'S SOCCER'S 3-0 TRIUMPH AT ALBANY

Albany, NY—Freshman Elizabeth Day scored her first collegiate goal early in the first half and classmate Amanda DiCarlo added a pair of second half scores as the UMBC women’s soccer team (3-5, 1-3) won its third straight game, a 3-0 triumph over Albany (1-11-1, 0-3) in an America East match-up.

UMBC dominated the shot totals, outshooting the Great Danes, 26-6 as DiCarlo had eight shots to lead the way. A pair of UMBC netminder combined on the shutout as Robin Babaris (3 saves, 80 minutes) and Kelly Lizon (0 saves, 10 minutes) gave UMBC its second straight shutout.
