Background: A four-year varsity starter at three-time county champion Severna Park High School… Earned Second Team nods from the Capital-Gazette in 2007 and 2008… Also a two-time Coaches All-County honoree… Led the Falcons to the regional title, the state semifinals and a No. 21 national ranking in 2007… Recorded assist on the game-winning goal in double overtime of the 2007 regional finals to send the Falcons to the state tournament… Team captain in 2008… Also was a club teammate of current Retriever Danielle Kell with the Freestate Sharks, which finished fourth at the 2007 U.S. Club National Championships… A three-year member of the Maryland ODP… An honor roll student… Chose UMBC over schools such as Wofford, Drexel and Navy due to its national reputation for education in technology… Daughter of Mark and Lynne Powell… Father played football at Navy… Has an older sister, Stephanie, who won a national junior college championship in lacrosse at Anne Arundel Community College and also played at Limestone College… Born April 9, 1991… A business technology major who would like to be an entrepreneur.
