Alyssa Semones Earns Nomination for America East Women’s Lacrosse Fans’ Choice Player of the Year

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – UMBC women's lacrosse junior Alyssa Semones (Westminster, Md./Westminster/Penn State) was nominated for the 2014 America East Women's Lacrosse Fans' Choice Player of the Year, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.

Voting will go until 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29 and can be done on the America East Facebook Page. The winner will be announced that evening via release at AmericaEast.com.

Semones leads the Retrievers with 25 goals on the season, in addition to piloting the squad in ground balls, draw controls and caused turnovers. The Westminster, Md., native has nine multiple-goal games, including four hat tricks, and has 29 points on the season. Semones leads the squad in draw controls for the second straight season, pulling in 31 draws and her 2.40 ground balls per game (36 total) places her third in the league.
