BALTIMORE—The UMBC women's lacrosse team hosts American and Columbia Friday evening in a fall tournament. The Retrievers will take on the Eagles at 6 p.m., followed by American versus Columbia at 7 p.m. The Retrievers and Lions will close out the night's action at 8 p.m. Admission is free to all fans.
Last season, UMBC earned a berth in the four-team America East Championship for the first time since 2006 and knocked off regular-season champ Albany in the semifinals to advance to its first-ever America East title game before falling to six-time defending champion Boston University in an 11-10 heartbreaker. The Retrievers finished with an 11-7 record, posting the most victories for the team since 2002.
