BALTIMORE—UMBC senior midfielder Amanda Pappas (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) has been selected to play in the Division I North-South Game, the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association (IWLCA) announced last week.

Pappas is one of 37 seniors chosen to participate in the annual exhibition, which will take place on Saturday, June 11, at the United Sports Training Center in Downingtown, Pa., as part of the Champions' Cup. Pappas will play for the South squad.

A two-time America East All-Conference second team selection, Pappas led the Retrievers with a career-high 41 goals and ranked third on the team with a career-best 47 points in 2011. She is just the 17th Retriever ever to score at least 40 goals in a season. In addition, she tallied 15 ground balls, 18 draw controls and 12 caused turnovers on the year. Pappas ranked sixth in the America East with 2.28 goals per game and ninth with 2.61 points per contest. She scored at least one goal in the last 14 games of the season and posted a team-best nine hat tricks on the season.

Pappas was named to the America East All-Championship Team in both 2010 and 2011 after leading the Retrievers to the league title game in back-to-back seasons, as she combined to score 11 goals in four career tournament contests.

Pappas concluded her career ranked 12th all-time at UMBC with 114 goals and 15th with 141 points, and she also recorded 27 assists, 73 ground balls, 51 draw controls and 44 caused turnovers in 65 games over her four years. She scored at least 25 goals and 35 points in each of her last three seasons.

Pappas is the sixth Retriever to be chosen for the North-South Game since 2006, joining former teammates Sarah Willis (2010), Kara Dorr (2009) and Ali Levendusky (2008), as well as Kelly Fiorani (2006) and Julie Libertini (2006).
