Braerman, Quick Nominated for America East Women’s Lacrosse Fans’ Choice Player of the Year

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass.UMBC senior goalkeeper Kate Quick (Phoenix, Md./Maryvale Prep) and junior attack Erika Braerman (Fallston, Md./Fallston) are among the 14 nominees for the 2010 America East Women’s Lacrosse Fans’ Choice Player of the Year.

     

    Quick, the 2009 First-Team All-Conference goalie, has anchored a UMBC defense which has allowed the second fewest goals in the America East this season, ranking 14th in the nation with an 8.79 goals-against average. Quick also leads the Retrievers with 34 ground balls and ranks second with 15 caused turnovers.

     

    Braerman is UMBC’s top scorer this season, as she leads the Retrievers with 29 goals, 21 assists and 50 points. She ranks second in the league in points per game and third in assists, and her 21 helpers are tied for the fifth-best single-season total in school history.

     

    Voting for the America East Women’s Lacrosse Fans’ Choice Player of the Year runs through the end of the day Thursday, April 29. The winner will be announced via AmericaEast.com on Friday, April 30.
