BALTIMORE—UMBC head women’s lacrosse coach Kelly Berger was selected to the 2009-10 U.S. Developmental Team following a two-day tryout at UMBC Stadium earlier this month.
A total of 64 players competed at the tryout, and 24 were named to the Developmental Team.
Berger, who was a two-time collegiate All-American at James Madison, is in her fifth year with the national team.
“It is such an honor to be named to this team again, and it’s an amazing experience to be able to play beside the best players in the world,” Berger said. “I feel that every time I get a chance to practice or play with this team I not only learn so much but I feel that I can improve my game that much more. We have so much fun playing together, and that is what makes it easy to come back together and play year after year.”
