7/26/2002

Mike Faith will enter his second season on the Retriever sidelines.

UMBC's men's and women's lacrosse programs have added assistant coaches to their full-time staffs. On the men's side, Don Zimmerman has appointed former Johns Hopkins standout Brandon Testa ('01), while women's mentor Monica Yeakel has tabbed Mike Faith as her full-time assistant. Faith served on Coach Yeakel's staff last season, and was elevated to full-time status. The 2000 graduate of Salisbury State spent one season as an assistant coach at the University of Richmond, before coming to UMBC last fall. Coach Yeakel credits Faith for UMBC's dynamic offense, which finished xth in the nation and helped propel the Retrievers to their first-ever NCAA Division I tournament appearance. A Baltimore native, Faith was an All-American midfielder for the Gulls in 1998.
