UMBC Women’s Lacrosse Announces Winter Clinics

BALTIMORE—UMBC women’s lacrosse coaches Courtney Connor, Kelly Berger and Erin LaMotte Koenig will host two clinics this winter at UMBC – the 2009 C2 Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Clinic and the C2 Lacrosse Winter Players’ Clinic.
The coaches’ clinic will take place Saturday, Feb. 7, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. and will discuss new and advanced coaching concepts and practice drills through chalk talk, video sessions, instructional handouts, live demo practice with the UMBC women’s lacrosse team, a recruiting and NCAA session, a conditioning segment and more. Cost is $75, and lunch is included. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at UMBC Stadium.
The players’ clinic is for girls ages 10-18 and will take place on Saturday, Feb. 7, from 2-6 p.m. The clinic offers instruction and training in the skills and latest techniques for stick work, shooting, defense, offense and basic concepts of the game. The participants will be divided by age and skill level, which will ensure that they will be learning in the proper environment. Enrollment in the clinic is limited. Cost is $50 per player and includes a T-shirt.
