WOMEN'S LACROSSE PUMMELS ST. FRANCIS (PA), 30-1; GERHART SCORES 100th CAREER GOAL

Loretto, PA- There is one way to describe the UMBC women's lacrosse team's 30-1 win over St. Francis (PA) today: complete domination. The Retrievers' set a new school record for goals in a game and assists in a game with 19. Head Coach Monica Yeakel's squad also outshot the Red Flash, 49-2.UMBC (6-4, 4-0 NEC) scored 18 goals in the first half alone, as seniors Loree Miller and Jamie Gerhart tallied four goals apiece. The Retrievers took a commanding 18-1 lead into the break over the Red Flash's (0-8, 0-4 NEC) first year program.In the second half, UMBC would slow the pace down a bit, scoring 12 goals while holding St. Francis scoreless for the final 30:30 of the contest.Overall, Miller led the Retrievers with five goals and four assists with Gerhart chipping in four goals and three assists. Gerhart's third goal was significant as it was the 100th of her career. She becomes only the 11th player in school history to reach that mark. Sophomore attacker Jen Dragoni (3g, 3a) and freshman midfielder Stephanie Crouch (4g, 2a) added six points each to the effort.
