Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Carney, Berger, to Compete with U.S. National Team at Champions Challenge

BALTIMORE—UMBC’s two new assistant women’s lacrosse coaches, Quinn Carney and Kelly Berger, will both participate in the U.S. Lacrosse Champions Challenge with the U.S. National Team in Orlando, Fla., at the end of January.
The third annual Champions Challenge, which will take place Saturday-Sunday, Jan. 26-27, at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex, will feature a series of exhibition games that include both the U.S. men’s and women’s national team programs, as well as the Duke University men’s and women’s squads and the Johns Hopkins University women’s team. In addition, the U.S. Women’s Elite Team will battle the U.S. Women’s Developmental Team to kick off the two-day event. Carney and Berger are both members of the Elite Team.
Kelly Berger will not be the only member of her family competing at the Champions Challenge; her older brother, Stephen Berger, is a member of the U.S. Men’s National Team, as well as a midfielder for the Long Island Lizards of Major League Lacrosse.
