Two UMBC Women’s Lacrosse Players Named to IWLCA Academic Honor Roll

    Heather Licht was one of two Retrievers selected to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll for the second year in a row.

    Baltimore-Two UMBC women’s lacrosse players – seniors Kelly Fahey (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) and Heather Licht (Sparks, Md./Hereford) – were selected to the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division-I Academic Honor Roll, the organization announced Friday. Both players earned the honor for the second year in a row.

     

    An American studies major and team co-captain, Fahey was also named to the 2007 America East all-academic squad as well as the all-conference second team after scoring 26 goals, posting 16 assists and winning 27 draw controls. She graduated cum laude in May with a 3.52 grade-point average.

     

    Licht, a biological sciences major, started seven of 16 games and scored eight goals. She graduated cum laude in May with a 3.62 cumulative GPA.

     

    The IWLCA honored 157 Division-I student-athletes from 57 schools with inclusion on the Academic Honor Roll.
