UMBC Softball, Women’s Lacrosse Games Postponed Due to Weather

Baltimore-UMBC’s softball games at George Washington and women’s lacrosse game at Loyola, both originally scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, will now be played on Wednesday due to the field conditions after Sunday’s snow and ice.

The first game of the softball double-header will still begin at 1 p.m. at Mount Vernon Field in Washington, D.C., while the lacrosse game will also be played at 1 p.m. instead of 3:30 p.m., the scheduled game time for Tuesday. That game will be played at Loyola’s Diane Geppi-Aikens Field in Baltimore.

The UMBC softball team has met bad luck in the opening weeks of the season, as the scheduled season-opening Longwood Tournament was cancelled due to snow and this past weekend’s double-header against Mount St. Mary’s was postponed indefinitely due to field conditions.

The Retriever women’s lacrosse team is 2-1 on the season after defeating Bucknell 13-5 on Friday.
