SARAH BENNETT NAMED ASSISTANT WOMEN'S LACROSSE COACH

Sarah Bennett has been named Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach at UMBC, it was announced today by Head Coach Monica Yeakel. Bennett has most recently served as Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach at Ohio University, helping to launch the program in 1999. Previously, she was the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach and Assistant Field Hockey Coach at the College of Wooster (1997-99) and the Providence, Rhode Island native also coached for two seasons (1995-97) as an assistant coach for field hockey and lacrosse at Skidmore (NY) College. A 1995 graduate of Denison University with a Bachelor of Arts in Educational Studies, Bennett was an outstanding college athlete who earned twelve varsity letters in four sports. A two-time First Team Lacrosse All-American, she was named NCAA Division III Defensive Player of the Year and an Academic All-American in her senior year. Moreover, she was a four-year starter on the Denison basketball team, a starting goalie in the NCAA Field Hockey Tournament during her freshman year, and a member of the NCAA All-Academic Team for cross country during her junior year. In 2001, Bennett earned a Masters of Science degree in Athletic Administration from Ohio University.
