WOMEN'S LACROSSE FALLS TO NATIONAL POWER BOSTON UNIVERSITY IN AMERICA EAST SEMI-FINALS
5/5/2005
Boston, MA--The third-ranked Boston University Terriers scored 10 unanswered second half goals and defeated UMBC, 20-5, in the semi-finals of the America East Tournament. UMBC finishes its season at 5-10.
UMBC freshman attacker Ali Levendusky played a role in all 5 UMBC scores, posting a career best 4 goals and adding an assist.
Levendusky gave UMBC a 1-0 lead in the first minute of play, but the Terriers scored 5 unanswered goals to take command. Levendusky ended the run with her second goal of the game, and after Boston responded with a score, the UMBC rookie fed defender Stephanie Crouch to cut the deficit to 6-3. The Terriers scored 3 in a row before Levendusky scored back-to-back goals to trim the deficit to 9-5. But the host school finished the half with a goal and scored 10 straight in the second half to move into the title game.
