UMBC

Boston, MA--The 11th-ranked Boston University Terriers defeated UMBC, 16-4, in the Retrievers' first America East contest of the season. UMBC fell to 2-6 overall, while BU improved to 9-1.

The host Terriers scored the first six goals of the game and UMBC did not get on the board until Kelly Fiorani scored with just over 4 minutes remaining in the first half. Jocena Venditti and Anna Jacobs scored back-to-back goals early in the second half to trim the Terrier lead to 11-3, but would come no closer.

Fiorani led UMBC with 1 goal and 1 assist. Sophomore netminder Kristina Raab made 12 saves in the cage.
